Don't act like you're not impressed

Here are our Halloween pumpkins! Annalie picked out the witch, Malorie wanted the cat and Matt and I got to carve them! It was actually quite fun and I think that they turned out pretty cute. We are hesitant to put them out on the porch because we have already seen some smashed pumpkins around the neighborhood! I guess we will wait until the big night to put them out but they are dang cute!

We went country, then we came back

Over the weekend we went to Scottsbluff, NE to visit one of Matt's friends from the Marine Corp. It was really quite fun. We forgot our camera so we are hoping that Matt's friend will send us some photos. Annalie and Malorie got to ride one of their horses and Matt and I got to go out back and shoot some clay pigeons. Yep, we were that country. It was a nice get away and it was fun to spend some time with the girls and go swimming and get away from our normal routine. It was fun to visit a small town but it is nice to be back in our big city.

The Great Pumpkin

We went to the pumpkin patch with Sarah and Chad and had a fun time! The weather was perfect! The pumpkin patch was HUGE. We found three pretty good size pumpkins to bring home for carving at a later date. We were also able to find some pretty tastey carmel apples for eating immediately.

Her Father's Daughter

The other night we were eating pizza as a family. After expressing that I was full Matt agreed that he was also full but he was going to finish the piece that he had just started (yes, he makes it a competition with himself). Matt starts shoving the pizza in his mouth just bite after bite and I said, "Honey, stop. That's gross." Annalie joined in and said, "Yeah Dad, stop it." and Malorie looks at Matt and said, "Come on Dad! You can do it!"

I guess it is good that Matt has someone on his side.

The Great Northwest

We had a fast and fun weekend up in Seattle to visit my sister and her family. Matt had never been to Seattle so we did as many touristy things that we could in the two days that we were there. We went to the top of the Space Needle and saw two sea-planes coming in for a landing, which was pretty cool. We also went to the locks and to the salmon ladder. We were a little too late for the salmon run as there were only two in the ladder. At least we saw a fish. The leaves were changing colors and there were some of the prettiest colors of leaves. There were a lot of bright red bushes and trees. They almost looked like they were dyed. It was a very fun trip and we hope to go up again and to be able to spend more time there.

What we did...

I have attached some pictures of what we did last week. We celebrated Malorie's birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's and had a great time. We had the extended Day family there as well as Grandma and Grandpa Clark and some cousins. It was so fun that when we were talking about Grandpa Clark's birthday Malorie asked if he wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese's to celebrate it.



Annalie finally lost a top tooth. We finally had to have the dentist pull it because it was dangling by a VERY strong thread.

Figuring it out

I am still working on how this whole blog thing works today. I am trying to get pictures on here but I know that there is a way to make them smaller, I just have to figure it out. Today has been a beautiful day in Colorado. I am pretty sure that I like the view of the mountains better than the view of the ocean. Not that I didn't like the ocean view, but the mountain view seems more majestic to me. Anyway, we took the girls and met up with Grandpa Day and went to Four Mile Park and went to a little "frontier days" sort of event. We rode in a covered wagon and went into a tee-pee and we also got some cinnamon roasted almonds. mmmm. It was a nice time.

If you can't beat 'em

We finally decided to start a blog. I figure this way I can put pictures somewhere that they are available to family and friends we don't see as often as we want. Plus, I just have a lot of random thoughts that might be interesting to others...just ask Heather. So, off we go into The Lives of Our Days....
